A Strange Land, Sangland

The Damsel and the Daggerman.
By Delilah S. Dawson.

I won this book in a giveaway. It’s from a series that I have not read before, so the “world” the story comes from is unfamiliar to me.
It is a very strange world, and fascinating.  All the animals including little bunnies are viscous blood drinkers, called blud bunnies or blud peacocks and the like. The animals that people use as guards or pets are Clockwork. Some of the people are human like Jacinda our heroine, and some are Bludmen like Marco our hero.
Jacinda is a journalist looking to write a story about a caravan show. The people from the caravan all seem to be hiding from something especially the Daggerman.  His last assistant dissappeared in mysterious circumstances.  Jacinda is determined to get her story but is getting distracted.
I enjoyed this trip into Sangland. A good kind of creepy place to visit. There are plenty more stories to come from this caravan . Lots of fascinating secondary characters. I think I will have to find the earlier books to straighten things out in my head.
All told an interesting and well told story.
