Wild Highlands

                   If You Dare.
               By Kresley Cole.

I was and still am a little confused about the time period that this series is set in. Some places it seems almost medieval, but they have repeating rifles and newspapers.
The story is a bit difficult to get into at first but it’s worth it in the end.
The hero is a bit of a bully to our heroine in the beginning.  She is not a very friendly hostess either. Courtland is in Andorra as a mercenary, but has decided not to carry on working for the man who hired him, and takes a nasty beating.
Anna finds Court unconscious and reluctantly nurses him back to health. There are a lot of very dangerous men out to kill both Anna and Court, and even more reasons for him to keep his hands and other things to himself. Their journey gets more difficult because they don’t always see things eye to eye.
Some very interesting characters and situations.  A family curse, and strange family dynamics.
I look forward to reading the other books in the series.
