From Behind the Veil.

             MY LORD VAMPIRE.
             By Alexandra Ivy.

The first of the Immortal Rogues trilogy.
Gideon is a vampire who has been behind the veil like most of his kind . Existing in peace.  He has been asked to go into the human world to protect one of three maidens who have part of a powerful medallion . This medallion and the maidens who wear it stand between the evil  vampires taking control and peace. These vampires who want it are more powerful than Gideon because they have taken human lives.
Simone is a wealthy widow enjoying her first season in London. She is the toast of the season, but she has secrets. There are two men who refuse to abide by the rules of society.  They push their way into her company, even when she has told her servants to allow no-one to enter  without her permission.
This is a regency type romance, with vampires who are different to the normal ones we are used to reading about.
As a big  fan of both historical and paranormal, this is definitely my flavour. I will be reading the rest.
