Home is a Dangerous Place.
By Becca St. John.
An unusual medieval romance. It has more to do with the women of the household than the Lord.
Lord Roland Montgomery has come home after 10years at the Crusades. The child bride he married in name only before he left , has fled from his home accused of being a witch and a whore.
When he has her back in his control he must discover the truth. He has more problems to solve than he knows. Someone is working to destroy his family, maybe from within.
Veri has been brought up by the women who live in the woods and make their living healing or acting as midwives. They are often suspected of witchery. Veri saved Roland’s life When she was only a child and he swore to protect her.
This book gives us a glimpse into the sort of problems that could arise when there is no-one is left to command the household. Superstition can run riot and people put in danger.
A very good twist at the end.
